National Stormwater Trust and American States Utility Services are installing the latest Opti technology on two ponds in the Tampa Bay Watershed. This is part of our first phase of developing Continuous Monitoring and Adaptive Control (CMAC) best management practice, which will increase pond performance and improve the quality of water discharged to Tampa Bay. In this first phase, we will also monitor pond elevations and their response to rain events by installing sensors to monitor the pond level and the rainfall at the pond location. We will use that information to refine our runoff models for these two basins. In the next phases, we will monitor water quality parameters and modify pond control parameters to maximize treatment in the pond.
